Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Genderwave mobile application (the "App"), provided by Alana .sh ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and these Terms.

2. What the App does

Genderwave analyzes acoustic properties of a speaking voice — from your microphone, or from an audio or video file you choose — and estimates where that voice falls on a masculine-to-feminine scale, along with a confidence score. All analysis happens on your device.

3. Purchase

Genderwave is available for a one-time purchase price shown in the App Store listing (currently $0.99 USD, subject to regional pricing). This is a single purchase, not a subscription — there is no recurring charge. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID account; we do not receive your payment card details.

4. Accuracy and limitations

Genderwave's analysis reflects acoustic similarity to a training dataset of labeled voice recordings — it is a statistical estimate, not a certification or medical, legal, or clinical assessment of anyone's gender or identity. Voice gender perception is inherently continuous and imperfect; do not rely on the App's output for any decision with legal, medical, employment, or other significant consequences.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse engineer, resell, or misuse the App, or use it to analyze recordings you do not have the right to use, harass or identify individuals without consent, or violate any law or the rights of others.

6. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its analysis will be accurate.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alana .sh shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or reliance on its output.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
